Project Management Awareness Training & Facilitation Services
The world needs Project Managers!
However, not everyone can be a Project Manager? Most of us have
seen and heard about the various "reality shows" that claim the title of Project Manager
for the teams. Even for a short while they will bring some of the skills, but
few will actually deliver based on solid project management skills and
techniques, and ultimately, they are "fired" for their efforts and failures
to build and effective team. They typically receive accolades for their
entertainment value despite having performed in a limited or unstructured
fashion - that is not project management. A successful project
managers do not seek and, in fact, rarely gets the visibility they deserve - a
successful project manager delivers what was expected, what was promised and
does it within the guidelines agreed to (cost, time, scope etc) and does it
without the publicity.
Should everyone understand what Project Management is about?
The answer is Yes. Can everyone get
that understanding? Again the answer is Yes.
The answer to how do we provide a project management awareness
or understanding of Project Management can be found in the attached Course
outlines. The Sessions are titles
Practical Project Management for the Non-Project Manager
(PPM4NPM) ©
and this really says it all. The sessions focus on a customizable approach to Project
Management for your Company, your Division, your Department, your Club, your
Association, your home. It provides a Practical approach to Project
Management. There are over 40 defined processes in the PMI©
Guide to the PMBOK ™ with
five processing groups and nine Body of Knowledge areas of focus. Not all
of these will apply on every project and not all are as important to you as the
rest.
MBF Consulting
Services Inc
will meet with you, gain an understanding on how
your area of focus operates and we will customize either an Executive highlights
session of 2 to 4 hours or a more detailed approach for 2 to 3 days on how to
use Project Management effectively. At the end of the sessions, you
will not be a Project Manager (unless you were at the start), your will not be
ready to write your Project Management Professional (PMP) exam. However,
you will be able to work on that Project you just "volunteered" for in a more
structured manner and you will have the tools and techniques to help deliver the
expected objectives more effectively.
